Lipika (“Lipika”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Lipika web application available at https://lipika.co.in/.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and what choices are available to users of the Lipika web application.
By using Lipika, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create or access a Lipika account, we may collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Account creation and authentication information
- Information necessary to maintain your authenticated session
Lipika uses email-based verification for authentication.
1.2 Payment Information
When you purchase tokens or a paid plan, payment processing is handled through our payment provider, Razorpay.
Lipika does not store your complete card, UPI, banking, or other sensitive payment credentials.
We may receive and store payment-related information necessary to record and verify a transaction, such as:
- Payment/order identifiers
- Payment amount
- Selected plan or token purchase
- Quantity where applicable
- Payment status
- Promotional code information where applicable
- Email address and name associated with the transaction
Payment processing is subject to Razorpay’s own terms and privacy practices.
1.3 Conversion Text
Lipika does not store users' conversion text.
Text submitted to the converter is processed to perform the requested conversion (Unicode ↔ Akruti or Sreelipi, for Odia). The submitted conversion content is not retained by Lipika as stored user content.
1.4 Usage Information
We may store information required to operate the service and maintain account balances, such as:
- Number of characters converted
- Token usage
- Token balance
- Paid plan status
- Account and transaction history
- Security and authentication records
1.5 Technical Information
Depending on how the service is accessed, limited technical information may be processed for security, reliability, rate limiting, troubleshooting, and service operation.
This may include information such as IP address, browser information, request timestamps, and similar technical information.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create and maintain user accounts
- Authenticate users
- Provide Unicode ↔ Akruti/Sreelipi conversion (Odia)
- Maintain token balances and usage records
- Process and verify payments
- Provide customer support
- Prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access
- Apply rate limits and security controls
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the service
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not use users' submitted conversion text as stored content for advertising or unrelated purposes.
3. Cookies and Sessions
Lipika uses authentication cookies to maintain secure user sessions.
Authentication cookies may be HttpOnly and, where appropriate, Secure and configured with suitable SameSite protections.
Cookies are used primarily to maintain authentication and service functionality.
4. Payment Processing
Payments are processed through Razorpay.
When a user makes a payment, relevant transaction information may be exchanged between Lipika and Razorpay to process, verify, and record the transaction.
Users should also review Razorpay’s applicable privacy policy and terms.
5. Email Communication
We may use the email address associated with an account to:
- Send authentication verification codes
- Send important account or transaction-related communications
- Respond to support requests
- Send necessary service notifications
We do not sell users' email addresses.
6. Data Retention
We retain account, transaction, usage, and security information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain records, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Conversion text submitted through the converter is not retained as stored user content.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
8. Sharing of Information
We do not sell or rent personal information.
Information may be shared with service providers where necessary to operate Lipika, such as payment processing, email delivery, hosting, database infrastructure, and security services.
We may also disclose information where required by applicable law, legal process, or a lawful government request.
9. User Rights
Subject to applicable law, users may request information regarding their personal data and may request correction or deletion where applicable.
Lipika provides account-related privacy functionality where available through the web application.
9.1 Account Deletion
When a user permanently deletes their Lipika account, account-associated information and service entitlements are removed according to the application's deletion process.
Remaining paid tokens are lost. Any active monthly or yearly plan associated with the account is lost. These entitlements cannot be transferred to another account after account deletion.

10. Children's Privacy
Lipika is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
If we become aware that personal information has been collected in circumstances where such collection is unlawful, we will take reasonable steps to address the situation.
