Welcome to Lipika. This Privacy Policy explains how Lipika Software (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you download, install, purchase, or use our Odia publishing suite.
This policy applies to the Lipika desktop application for Windows (current release v1.0.0 “Sarala”), our website lipika.app, and our checkout and support channels. By using Lipika, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information necessary to deliver Lipika to you.
2.1 Personal information you provide
- Name and email address — collected at checkout so we can deliver your licence key, invoice, and support replies.
- Support messages — when you write to us via the contact form or email, we store your message and email address to respond.
2.2 Licence information
- Your licence key, activation status, activation date, and expiry date.
- The version of Lipika the key was activated against.
2.3 Payment information
All payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or netbanking credentials. Razorpay shares only the transaction reference, amount, status, and your email address with us.

3. How We Use Information
We use the information above only for these purposes:
- Licence activation and verification — to unlock the full features of Lipika on your device.
- Customer support — to reply to your questions and troubleshoot issues.
- Product improvement — using only anonymised, aggregated metrics (for example, how many downloads a release receives). We never combine these with personal data.
- Legal compliance — issuing GST invoices and responding to lawful requests.
4. Data Storage & Security
4.1 Local processing
Every piece of text you work with in Lipika is processed in local memory and discarded when you close the application. Nothing is written to disk by the converter and nothing is sent over the network.
4.2 Server-side data
Our customer and licence records are stored on servers located in India. We use:
- AES-256 encryption at rest for licence keys.
- TLS 1.3 for all connections to our services.
- Role-restricted access for support staff.
4.3 Retention periods
- Licence records — retained for the life of the licence plus 7 years for tax compliance.
- Support messages — retained up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Checkout form data — name and email retained only for completed transactions.
5. Data Sharing
We share your data with only the following parties, and only as described:
- Razorpay — to process your payment and issue GST invoices.
- Our email provider — to deliver your licence key and support replies.
- Legal authorities — only when required by a valid legal order.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We use no third-party advertisers on our website or in the application.
6. Your Rights
You may at any time:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Withdraw consent for marketing or support communications.
- Export your data in a machine-readable format.

7. Cookies & Tracking
Our website uses only:
- One first-party entry in
localStorageto remember your light/dark theme preference. - No third-party cookies.
- No advertising trackers, pixels, or cross-site identifiers.
8. Children's Privacy
Lipika is a professional tool. We do not direct our services to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Data Transfers
All personal data we process is stored on servers located in India. We do not transfer data to servers outside India. If a customer outside India purchases Lipika, their payment is processed by Razorpay under its own data-processing terms.
10. Changes to This Policy
When we make material changes, we will notify you by:
- An email to the address you provided at checkout, or
- An in-app notice the next time you launch Lipika.
Changes take effect on the “Last updated” date shown at the top of this page. Continued use of Lipika after that date means you accept the updated policy.

1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, activating, or otherwise using Lipika, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please uninstall the application and do not purchase a licence.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, form the complete agreement between you and Lipika Software.
2. License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of the applicable fee, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Lipika on one (1) computer.
2.1 Trial licence
Lipika provides a 3-day free trial with full functionality. No credit card is required. At the end of the trial, Lipika switches to read-only mode until a paid licence is activated.
2.2 Restrictions
- One licence key activates one computer. Transferring the key requires contacting support.
- The licence is personal. It may not be sublicensed, shared, or bundled with other products.
- Institutional licences must be purchased separately — see the contact page.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble Lipika.
- Redistribute, resell, lease, or lend copies of Lipika or its licence keys.
- Use Lipika for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes the rights of others.
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or attribution notices in the software.
4. Intellectual Property
All code, design, documentation, and the Unicode ⇄ Akruti mapping tables used by Lipika are proprietary to Lipika Software and protected by Indian copyright law.

- All prices include GST. Payments are processed by Razorpay.
- No refunds after purchase — the 3-day trial is provided so you can fully evaluate Lipika before paying.
- Promo codes are limited-time, single-use, and cannot be combined with each other or with other offers.
6. License Activation
After payment, your licence key is delivered to the email address you provided at checkout, usually within minutes.
- One key activates one computer. Activation requires a one-time internet connection; afterwards Lipika runs fully offline.
- To transfer a licence to a different computer, contact support with both machines’ details.
- If you lose your licence key, contact support with your proof of purchase (Razorpay transaction ID or order email). We will re-issue the key at no charge.
7. Updates & Maintenance
- All v1.x releases are provided free of charge to licence holders.
- Lipika may check for updates on launch. This check can be disabled in Settings.
- Bug fixes are released at our discretion based on severity and customer impact.
- Major new versions (v2.x and beyond) may be offered at an upgrade price; we will announce any such pricing in advance.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
Lipika is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, Lipika Software’s total liability arising out of these Terms or your use of Lipika is capped at the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
In no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or reputational harm — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
10. Termination
- By you: you may terminate these Terms at any time by uninstalling Lipika.
- By us: we may revoke your licence if you materially breach these Terms (for example, by redistributing the software or sharing licence keys). We will notify you by email and, where reasonable, give you 14 days to remedy the breach before revocation.
On termination, your right to use Lipika ends immediately and you must uninstall the application. Sections that by their nature survive termination (intellectual property, liability, governing law) will continue in effect.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India.
